Affiliate Marketing Theme Builder for Wordpress Blogs

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Every day new people (possibly you) want to get on the bandwagon to create a blog or start trying to make money online. But, you, and most of those people don’t know how to create a site, do coding or anything technical. Well, there is a solution for those who want to be able to sell affiliate products with a blog. Using this theme builder you can easily create a niched blog and even create a custom header graphic for it.

I think for new marketers who are trying to monetize blogs, or those who don’t want to spend time building a site (and instead want to write killer copy and do promotion) this affiliate theme builder for Wordpress blogs is a great thing to try. There are levels of service available, too – the basic package is a one time payment of $97:

  • Use Affiliate Theme on a single domain/website
  • Six (6) unique page templates
  • Access to Video Tutorials, Knowledge Base, and Support Forum AND Affiliate Interviews

Perhaps you realize that there are not too many things in the marketing world these days that don’t require a subscription – so take advantage of this offer which will require you to only pay once. There are other packages for those who wish to use these themes on multiple websites (and another package for super affiliates).

I recommend going to take the test drive, since it is hard to describe in words something that is so well explained visually here:

Affiliate Theme

So as a “mini-review” I would say this  theme builder for affiliate marketing in wordpress blogs is going for a reasonable price and it saves you a ton of time.

Wordpress Database Backup, Maintenance and Upgrade Plugins

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Once you have a blog and have written your pages and posts, you should always back up the data. The posts are stored in a database. Databases can be backed manually see: http://codex.wordpress.org/Backing_Up_Your_Database.  Better yet, you can use one of the plugins that have been developed to make this process easier. Some of the plugins just backup the database tables. Others provide Wordpress maintenance options, such as optimizing or restoring the database. This is the list (to be added to as I find more options that I can recommend):

Wordpress Database Backup – On-demand backup of your WordPress database. You can download your backup file and there are scheduling options. http://www.ilfilosofo.com/blog/wp-db-backup/

- or -

WP-DB-Backup – WP-DB-Backup allows you easily to backup your core WordPress database tables. You may also backup other tables in the same database. ALso schedules backups:  http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-db-backup/

This is my favorite – and it’s so easy to use:

  1. put plugin on host in the plugins folder
  2. activate plugin (after signing into your Wordpress Admin panel
  3. select Tools and select Backup
  4. follow instructions on the page

WP-DBManager 2.03 – Manages your Wordpress database. Allows you to optimize database, backup database, restore database, delete backup database and run selected queries. http://lesterchan.net/blog/2006/04/01/my-wp-plugins-update-april-06/ For specific Wordpress versions and translations: http://lesterchan.net/wordpress/readme/wp-dbmanager.html

Wordpress Automatic Upgrade - allows a user to automatically upgrade the wordpress installation to the latest one provided by wordpress.org using the 5 steps provided in the wordpress upgrade instructions. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/ (Not needed in Wordpress 2.7 and above because this feature is built in for those versions.) See the free step-by-step guide for using the automatic upgrade plugin.

Redirection – a WordPress plugin to manage 301 redirections, keep track of 404 errors, and generally tidy up any loose ends your site may have. This is particularly useful if you are migrating pages from an old website, or are changing the directory of your WordPress installation. http://urbangiraffe.com/plugins/redirection/

Thank Me Later – a plugin which will send a “thank you” message to readers a few days after they sent the message. It has a vast array of features and options, and is highly customizable. http://www.making-the-web.com/2008/08/27/plugin-thank-me-later/
